Stephen "Sam" Earl Randall

June 17, 1960 - May 1, 2022

Stephen “Sam” Earl Randall, 61 of Rushville, passed away on May 1, 2022 in Greensburg. He was born on June 17, 1960 in Rushville to the late Earl F. and Ida K. (Hatfield) Randall. Stephen was a 1978 graduate of Rushville High School. He worked as a dispatcher for the Rushville Sheriff’s Department and Rushville Police Department. Stephen worked full-time at the Sheriff’s Department starting in 2000 and then went part time in 2003, when he started working full-time for the Police Department. While retiring from the Rushville Police Department, he missed the brotherhood. Stephen was the sports editor for the Rushville Republican for many years. He enjoyed watching all different kinds of sports and playing BINGO. Stephen was an avid fan of Bobby Knight, Indiana University and the Rushville Lions. He was the announcer for all of the Rushville sports. Stephen is survived by his loving daughter, Nicole (T.J.) Herbert of Cincinnati, OH; brother, Michael (Vicky) Randall of Janesville, WI; sisters, Karen (Bruce) Oldham of Rushville, Janet Hollar of Rushville, and Lori (Rick) Riggs of Shelbyville. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Alexis Wethington, Braydon, Emma, Blaec and Ethan Herbert. Stephen is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Teresa James. Services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 1 PM, with Pastors Ray Siggers and John Wall presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 11 AM until the time of service. Burial will be held in Rushville East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of Southern Indiana or Aspen Place in Greensburg.
