Richard "Dickie" Dye

Richard “Dickie” Dye, 51 of Rushville, passed away on January 22, 2022 in Rushville. He was born on February 25, 1970 in Rushville to the late Robert F. and Marjorie (Hatfield) Dye. Dickie was a 1990 Rushville High School Graduate. He worked at the Department of Corrections in New Castle for over 15 years as a guard. Dickie enjoyed painting, working on lawn mowers and fishing. Dickie is survived by the love of his life, Laura Brown of New Castle; sisters, Jacqueline Duke of Rushville and Linda Woods of Rushville; brothers, Bobby (Cindy) Dye of St. Paul and Tracy Lightner of Arlington; mother, Ketena Lemon and brother-in-law, Rex Jones; step-brother, Kenny Sellers and step mother, Sandy Lightner. He will also be missed by several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Dickie is preceded in death by his parents, father, Richard Lightner, brothers, Bill Lightner; sisters, Suzanne Cheek and Brenda Jones; brother-in-law’s, Glen Duke , Carroll “Butch” Woods, and Paul Cheek Services will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 10 AM, with Pastor John Wall presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family on Monday evening from 4 PM- 8PM in the mortuary. Burial will be held in East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of Southern Indiana.
