Rebecca Hornaday

April 14, 1951 - February 10, 2022

Rebecca Hornaday, 70 of Rushville, peacefully passed away on February 10, 2022 in Rushville surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 14, 1951 in Rush County, IN to the late Clayton Henry and Geneva Gladys (Thornton) Hallgarth. Rebecca married William Hornaday on June 8, 1968 and he preceded her in death. She worked as a CNA for several years and then later took on woodworking at Continental Kitchen in Shelbyville making cabinets. Rebecca was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed crafts, being outdoors and gardening. Rebecca was a member of the Rushville Eagles, VFW and American Legion. Rebecca is survived by her son, William (Amy) Hornaday of Rushville; daughters, Shannon (Jim) Woods of Rushville, Amy (Tim) Trowbridge of Mays and Wendy (Kevin) Aylsworth of Rushville; sister, Patricia (Bill) Reeves of Greenwood. She will also be missed by her 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Rebecca is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Bob, Delmar, Carol, Mike and Chester Hallgarth; sisters, Mary Alice, Polly Whitsell, Janice Doll, Donna Harlow and Judy Warrick. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 10 AM in Moster Mortuary, with Pastor John Wall presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family on Tuesday evening from 4PM-8PM in the mortuary. Burial will be held in East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made out to Kindred Hospice Care.
