Mary Alice Mays

November 21, 1938 - February 17, 2022

Mary Alice Mays, 83 of Glenwood, went to be with her Heavenly Father peacefully on February 17, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born on November 21, 1938 in Hamilton, OH to the late Arnold James and Frances (Adams) Winkler. Mary married Ernest Mays on June 8, 1955 and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2019. She retired after 23 years of service at Ford in Connersville. Mary worked as an assembly operator. She was a member of Glenwood Church of Christ. Mary enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and bird watching. She loved the time spent with her family. Mary is survived by her children, Sheila Brumfield of Glenwood, Barb (Steve) Knecht of Rushville, Michael Ernest Mays of Glenwood, and Pam Green of Rushville. She will also be missed by her 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; and sister, Edna Gilkerson (93 years old) of Hamilton, OH. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, Terry Brumfield; siblings, Boyd Winkler, Paul Winkler, Eugene Winkler, Betty Ruby and Carol Phelps. Services will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 1 PM in Moster Mortuary, with Pastor David Bonne presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 11 AM until the time of service in the mortuary. Burial will be held in Orange Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Glenwood Church of Christ.
