James "Jim" R. Morgan

March 15, 1935 - July 30, 2020

James “Jim” Robert Morgan, 85 of Rushville, passed away on July 30, 2020 in Rushville. He was born on March 15, 1935 in Richland, IN to the late Clifford Morgan and Mildred L. (Troutman) Weber. Jim was a 1953 graduate of New Salem High School. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1954-1958. James married Phyllis (Johnson) Morgan on October 5, 1958 and she preceded him in death on February 15, 2011. He was an assistant V.P. Commercial lender at Wells Fargo and then worked at Farm Credit Services as an Office Manager, retiring in 1999. James was a very active member of Rushville Church of Christ and New Salem Lions Club. Jim is survived by his son, Jeff (Nicki) Morgan of Fort Worth, TX; sisters, Shirlee Spurlin of Rushville and Marilyn (Donald) Davison of Rushville; and 3 grandchildren, Clint Morgan, Tracy (Robbie) Gibler and Ben Morgan. He also will be missed by several nieces and nephews. James is preceded in death by his parents and wife. Services will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 1 PM in Rushville Church of Christ, with Pastor Jim Coyle presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 11 AM until the time of service in the church. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made out to Rushville Church of Christ in memory of Jim.
