    Jack M. Swegman

    March 5, 1945 - July 16, 2019

    Jack Swegman, 74 of Rushville, passed away on July 16, 2019 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on March 5, 1945 in Connersville to the late Paul K. and Mary Margaret (Lake) Swegman. Jack is a 1964 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School. Jack then went onto serving his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He married the love of his life, Norma (Davis) Swegman on May 25, 1968 and she survives. Jack was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Rushville. He devoted a big portion of his life into helping people; by driving them by bus to their destination. He had the opportunity to drive for many different associations in Greensburg, Shelbyville, and also Rushville. Jack will always be known for his big heart. In addition to his wife of 51 years, Norma; he is survived by his son, Jason (Srabanti) Swegman of South Carolina and daughter, Jackie Linette (Dwane) Makofka of Rushville, brother, Tom (Julie) Swegman of Greensburg; sisters, Susie Dollens of Greensburg and Crystal (Wayne) Ricketts of Greensburg. He will also be missed by his 7 grandchildren, Hannah Swegman, Ishan Kumar, Adam Bolyard, Aaron (Danielle) Bolyard, Austin Bolyard, Brett Makofka, Kylie (Tyler) Murphy; 4 great-grandchildren, Erin Bolyard, Khloe Makofka, Milly Makofka, Kayden Murphy. Jack is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Paula Annette. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 10 AM in Moster Mortuary, with Rev. Jeff Edwards presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family on Monday evening from 4PM-8PM in the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made out to the American Cancer Association in memory of Jack.
