    Earlene M. West

    August 3, 1937 - March 12, 2020

    ********All services will be private/immediate family only. This is due to the COVID-19 virus. Our statutory duty of care in its most fundamental form is public health and welfare.******** Earlene M. West, 82 formerly of Rushville, passed away on March 12 2020 in Terre Haute. She was born on August 3, 1937 in Ripley County to the late Earl and Marie (Gildehaus) Russell. Earlene was the Valedictorian of her 1955 class in Rushville High School. She married John E. West on May 29, 1955 and he preceded her in death on April 9, 2011. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Earlene worked at the Schnadig and Dana Corporation. She also worked at the Rushville High School and the Department of Welfare as a secretary. Earlene was an avid golfer. Earlene is survived by her son, Dr. Douglas (Patricia) West of Terre Haute, IN; brother, John Prater of MI and 2 grandchildren, Kyle West and Alison West. Earlene is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Joyce and brother, David Russell. Service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 1 PM in Moster Mortuary, 334 North Main Street, Rushville, IN 46173. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 11 AM until the time of service in the mortuary. Burial will be held in Rushville East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made out to the Alzheimer’s Association.
