Dixie Lee Underwood, 81, of Rushville and formerly of Lufkin TX, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021 in Rushville. Dixie was born on August 14, 1940 in Okmulgee, OK to the late John and Velma Geraldine (Powell) Tucker. Dixie was a 1957 graduate of Will Rogers High School. She married Gary L. Underwood Sr. on March 23, 1964 and he preceded her in death on April 10, 2010. Dixie was an operator and administration assistant for LCTX Telephone for 22 years before retiring. Dixie enjoyed reading, fishing, being at the lake, and spending time with her family. Survivors include her sons, James David Underwood, Gary Underwood and wife Sherri, all of Rushville, grandson Cory Harris and great-grandson, Aiden Alton. In addition to her parents and husband, Dixie was preceded in death by her daughter, Johnna Underwood, and sister, Barbara Walker. Service will be private.
