Ruth L. VanNatta

Ruth L. VanNatta, age 97, passed away on October 27, 2022, at Glen Oaks in New Castle, IN surrounded by loved ones. Ruth was born on March 7, 1925, to the late Wm. W. Carpenter and Emma Mary Patterson Carpenter. Preceding her in death were brothers William A. Carpenter and James E. Carpenter; sisters Dorothy Carpenter Pock, and Norma Jean (Jackie) Carpenter Lower. Ruth will be greatly missed for her generous, caring heart. She touched many lives. Her family rejoices as she receives her reward with her Lord and Savior. Her earthly suffering has passed as she claims her eternal reward in Heaven. She graduated from New Salem High School in April of 1943 and married the dear love of her life, Marvin W. VanNatta, on August 1, 1943. Ruth farmed with her husband Marvin and took great pride in being a homemaker. Marvin went to be with his Lord on August 17, 1996. Family was always a priority and extremely important to Ruth. She was a long-time member of Raleigh Christian Church and taught young ones for many years. She remained steadfast in her faith and devotion to her Lord. She approached each of her life circumstances with strength and grace. Surviving are sons Michael (Sheri) VanNatta, Lake Havasu City, AZ; Mark (Terry) VanNatta, Rush County/ Falmouth; Matthew (late wife Sheila) VanNatta, Rush County/Falmouth; and daughter Donna (Frank) Pitts, Rush County. Her love showered her 5 grandsons: Jason (Angie) VanNatta; Erik (Cathy) VanNatta; Aaron (Stephanie) VanNatta; Colt (Jessica) VanNatta; and Rhett Pitts. Ruth also enjoyed the blessing of 7 great-grandchildren: Lily R. VanNatta; Morgan (Josh) Nobbe; Brett (Gracey) VanNatta; Gabby VanNatta; Daniel VanNatta; Hoyt VanNatta; and Lily M. VanNatta. She was blessed to have 2 great-great-grandchildren: Bennett Nobbe and Addison VanNatta. Also surviving are a brother-in-law, Charles VanNatta, of Columbus, IN, and sister-in-law Inge Vannatta of Florida. She leaves many dear nieces and nephews that she loved dearly and considered her own. All are welcome to attend as we celebrate her going home to her Lord. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 10 AM Moster Mortuary. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 4PM-8PM in the mortuary on Tuesday evening. Burial will be held in Raleigh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Raleigh Christian Church or to Rush County Community Foundation.
