Peggy Sue Earnest

Peggy Earnest, 66 years old, of Maui, Hawaii was called home to heaven on August 11, 2024. She was born on February 22, 1958 to Howard Louis Zimmerman and Viola Fletcher in Rushville, Indiana. Peggy married the love of her life Fredric Jay Earnest on July 1, 1979. They recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. They lived together in Maui, a place that they enjoyed vacationing with family and dreamed of retiring and spending time together. Together, they raised two wonderful children, their son, Bradly Jay (Jessica) Earnest, and daughter, Heather Louise Earnest. Peggy loved life, she lit up every room that she was in, and she was the glue to her family. She enjoyed the sunset, the beach, but most of all, she loved her four grandchildren: Aidan, Carter, Greta, and Logan. She liked to spend time watching them at their sporting events, band shows, or doing their hair and nails. Peggy was a fashionista, always looking classy and in style. She took care of her children and grandchildren and was so proud of their character and accomplishments. And she wouldn't ever miss an opportunity to dance with her husband, Jay. Their love could be seen and felt whenever you saw them together. Family was everything to Peggy and her love knew no bounds. If you were friends with Peggy, she considered you her Ohana (Family). Her cousins were more like siblings to her and her children’s friends often referred to her as their mom, too. Peggy took care of all of her loved ones, from dropping off her amazing home cooked meals and dishes to a new friend she met at the beach or staying up late to prepare all the yummy treats for her family the next day. We know that we will miss her late night conversations or messages, spontaneous gifts in the mail, and stories that she would share when she gathered everyone together. We rejoice in the fact that she is reunited with her dad and mom in heaven, having lost her mother just a few months before her own passing, knowing that she is grateful to be together again with her parents. Peggy is survived by her brother Lou (Sylvia) Zimmerman of Indianapolis, IN. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Louis and Viola Zimmerman. The family would like to extend Aloha to the staff of Maui Memorial for their wonderful care and gratitude for their wife and mother. Services will be held at 1 PM Monday, August 26, 2024 in Moster Mortuary. Friends can visit the family from 2-5 on Sunday, August 25 in the mortuary. Burial will be in the Arlington East Hill Cemetery.
