John R. Foster

John R. Foster, 57, of Rush County, passed away May 7, 2022 at his home. He was born March 14, 1965 in Connersville, IN to the late Dr. Lewis Clark Foster and Nancy I. (Good) Rowekamp . John was a 1983 graduate of Connersville High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in History Education from Purdue University in 1989. He married Ginny Musselman on April 28, 1990 and she survives. John worked 32 years for the State of Indiana -Division of Family Resources. He also had farmed many years with his father. John coached Rushville Youth Soccer for 14 years and was an assistant coach 12 years for Rushville High School soccer. John enjoyed politics, reading history, watching westerns & sci-fi. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family!! In addition to his loving wife of 32 years; Ginny, he is survived by his daughter, Emma (Seth) Worland and son, Ethan (Carissa) Foster; and a sister; Laura (Bob) Shoemaker. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews; Rebecca (D.J.) Nelson, Brittany (Chad McGowen) Kelley, Skylor Kelley, Christopher Huntington, Nathan Huntington and Zackerie Mussleman; brother-in-law, Eric Musselman and sister-in-law, Jackie (Sean) Kelley; son-in-law to Tom and Pat Musselman(deceased); aunt, Maribel Foster. Many other family members; Carol(Paul-Deceased) Coon and Lowell (Marty-Deceased) Limpus, grandparents; Ellsworth (Isabelle Limpus) Good and Thomas (Beatrice Bagley) Foster, cousins; Warren Flack, Carl York, Melanie Foster Ayres, Greg Foster and many cousins, great-nieces; Rosalie and Daisy Nelson and great-nephew; Dashel Nelson. John is preceded in death by his parents, aunts; Harriett (Bob) Flack, and Ruth Ann Foster York, and an uncle; Ned Foster. Service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 11 AM in Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Pastor Greg Marvel and John’s son; Ethan Foster presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 5PM-8PM on Thursday evening, May 12th in the mortuary. Burial will be held in the Rushville East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to MoRE for Kids or the donor’s favorite animal shelter in memory of John.
