Floyd R. Robbins

Floyd Robert Robbins, 73, of Rushville, passed away suddenly at his home on June 10, 2017. He was born on June 6, 1944 in Rushville to the late Robert Nelson and Della Garnet (Hitchel) Robbins. Floyd was a 1962 graduate of Rushville High School. He served in the US Army from 1962-1966. Floyd married Diana Graves on August 19, 1966 and she survives. Floyd worked at Pioneer as a shipping coordinator for over 30 years, retiring in 2012. He drove a bus for Fayette County School Corporation for many years. Floyd was a member of the Rushville Church of Nazarene for many years and more recently active at Main Street Christian Church where he participated in the Manta Mission and serving the annual Thanksgiving Dinner. He was a member of the Rushville VFW, Rushville Elks, Rushville American Legion, and Eagles Lodge. Floyd was a Special Reserve Officer for the Rushville Police Department for several years. He enjoyed golfing with his friends in the American Legion golf league and he was an avid fisherman. Floyd is survived by his loving wife, Diana (Graves) Robbins of Rushville; 3 sons, Floyd Robert (LaShell) Robbins, Jr. of Bulls Gap, TN; Christopher Lee (Meshelle) Robbins of Morristown, TN; Brian Edward Robbins of Rushville; 3 brothers, Marvin (Carol) Robbins of Richmond, Harry (Susie) Robbins of Indianapolis, Kenny (Donna) Robbins of Rushville; a sister, Donald (Mildred) Snyder of Connersville; 18 grandchildren, Jaston, Brittany (fiancé, Alex Hilton), Dakota and Dylan Robbins, Michael Dinkins, Kandace Wolfe, , Arrianne, Michael, Austin, Brooklyn, Chava, Natasha, Hayden, Carlee, Jonathan, Grayson, Kaiden and Hayleigh Robbins; great granddaughter, Harper Annalee Hilton; 2 step great grandchildren, Adisynne Toby and Haylee Wolfe. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Floyd is preceded in death by his loving son, Michael James and brother, Wayne Robbins. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 2 PM in Moster Mortuary, with Pastor Chip West presiding. Friends are welcome to visit on Tuesday evening from 4-8 PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Fayette County. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Main Street Christian Church for the Manta Mission or the Memorial Fund.
