Earl C Marlatt

Earl C Marlatt, 65 of Glenwood, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021. He was born on November 29, 1955 in Rushville to Forrest and the late Anita (Ruby) Marlatt. Earl was a 1974 graduate of Rushville High School. He married Mary (Pavey) Marlatt, the love of his life on August 16, 1975 and she survives. The love Mary and Earl shared was rare and beautiful. He was an example of everything a dad should be. They have 6 children: Jennifer (Freddy) Snow of Rushville, Sabrina (Joe) Baumgarte of Carmel, Molly (Tony) Manns of Howe, IN, Hillary (John) Magorrian of Annalong, Northern Ireland, Sarah (Adam) Schock of Milroy, IN, and Kevin Marlatt of Glenwood; 17 grandchildren, Heather, Cecilia, Aaron, Savanah, Eliza, Corbin Snow; Isaiah, Daniel, Caroline, Jonathan, Charles Baumgarte; Bailey, Michael Manns; Seán, Eoghan Magorrian, Noah, Declan Schock, 2 great-grandchildren, and so many “bonus kids.” He will also be missed by his siblings, Clifford (Julie) Marlatt of Rushville, sister, Alice Kay (David) McQueen of Rushville and Paul (Millie) Marlatt of Rushville and many nieces and nephews. Earl is preceded in death by his mother, Anita (Ruby) Marlatt. Earl loved family, friends, and farming in that order. He had this amazing ability to read people’s personalities and know how to make those around him feel comfortable, welcome, and to bring a smile to your face. He has been very active throughout his life with John Deere tractors, pulling tractors and lawn tractors, raising bees, 4-H Tractor maintenance Leader and Judge, past treasurer of Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department, St. Mary Parish Council member, girls youth softball coach, and member of Knights of Columbus. He was strong in his faith and led by example. The positive ripple effects he has had in this world cannot be measured or undone. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 10AM in St. Mary Catholic Church. Friends are welcome to visit the family on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 4PM-7PM at Moster Mortuary. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church Foundation or Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department.
