Marlene Miller

Marlene Miller, a lifelong Rush County area resident went to Heaven on November 30, 2020. She was born January 22, 1935 in Rush County to La Rue & Eva (Waggoner) Kirk. Marlene graduated from Milroy High School in 1952. She married Max N. Miller on November 11, 1953 in Gowdy, IN. She was a member of the Homer Christian Union Church and a former member of the Gab, Garb & Glamour Home EC Club. Marlene was a homemaker and helped run the family farm alongside her husband. She worked in numerous offices of the Rush County Courthouse. She was known for her creative spirit especially with her beautiful crafted hand blown ostrich, emu, goose, and duck egg ornaments and gifts she created through her business, Eggsquisite Creations. She was kind and giving to everyone she met and she especially loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. Marlene is survived by her husband Max of Rush County, her daughter Denise (Ken) Hoeing of Rush County, her grandchildren, Chris (Ashley) Hoeing, Kim (Ben) Lawson, Carly (Brett) Holland, Clint Miller & Andrew Miller and her great grandkids, Leah & Noah Lawson, Ezra & Avery Holland. She is also survived by several nieces & nephews, and former daughter-in-law Delana Laker. She was preceded in death by a son, Daryl "Butch" Miller, her parents, a grandson Kyle Hoeing, brothers; Cyril & Kenneth Kirk, sisters; Norma Cameron, Nedra Pugsley and Lurene Kirk, and a nephew Tom Kirk who was raised as a brother to her. Services will be held at Noon Friday, December 4, 2020 in Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Rev. Dena Vittorio presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 10 AM until service time on Friday. Burial will be in the Hurst Cemetery. Marlene would want everyone to live by the following statement she had clipped out of a newspaper... "Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of kindness. Be good to one another, especially those with whom you disagree. Find common ground. Pay it forward."
